Press Conference: Milwaukee Muslim Police Officer Files Formal Complaint Alleging Bias
Milwaukee Police Officer Subjected to Intimidation and Harassment by Milwaukee Police Department
(Chicago, IL 10/19/05) – The Chicago chapter of the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy group, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago), in conjunction with the Law Offices of Robert M. Mihelich, will hold a press conference to discuss a complaint filed by a Muslim police officer for race, religious and national origin discrimination against the Milwaukee Police Department.

WHO: The Chicago Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago) and the Law Offices Robert M. Mihelich on behalf of Ayman Khatib.
WHY: This press conference will discuss the complaint filed by a Muslim police officer for race, religious and national origin discrimination against the Milwaukee Police Department. The officer was subjected to harassment by colleagues since the 9-11 attacks. The harassment reached its height when a SWAT team was used to arrest the officer at his home based on allegations of a threat made by the officer. The charge was later dropped when it was determined to be untrue.
