CAIR-Chicago Governmental Relations Coordinator Sadiya Ahmed presented on a panel during a Community Builders meeting in Downers Grove, Illinois, on Thursday, November 16, 2006.

The panel, a discussion on the 2006 election, addressed the activities of the Chicagoland Muslim community and steps to take to make the 2008 election more successful.

American Muslim Council Executive Director Ali Khan was also a part of the panel. CAIR-Chicago’s work in the third congressional district, through the New Americans Democracy Project (in partnership with the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights), was examined.

Improvements that need to be made from 2006 to 2008 were also heavily discussed, from mosque involvement to financial constraints.
