CAIR-Chicago’s Civil Rights Coordinator Christina Abraham represented a Muslim man in an administrative hearing for unemployment benefits.

The man was terminated after his employer refused to change his shift after the man presented the employer with a doctor’s note requesting the shift change.

The employer claimed that the man resigned, but were not present at the hearing to submit evidence of their claim.

CAIR-Chicago will assist the man in filing a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) regarding other mistreatment the man experienced at the workplace.
