A judge reversed and remanded a conviction against a Muslim cab driver for traffic violations that led to the suspension of the cab driver’s chauffeur license.

The cab driver was pulled over for a traffic violation, approached by police with drawn weapons, and detained for seven hours where police made derogatory comments about his religion.

CAIR-Chicago Attorney Rima Kapitan highlighted the inconsistent testimony of the officer that made the traffic stop. The judge agreed, and reversed the conviction that led to the cab driver’s license suspension, remanding the case for a new hearing.
