CAIR-Chicago filed a lawsuit on behalf of a Muslim man who applied for a position with the Chicago Police Department.

The Chicago Police Department made assurances to the man that he would secure a place at the police academy and train to become an officer. However, the Department denied his application after learning about the man’s prior employment at a Muslim charity organization.

The police department even requested a background investigation on the man from Interpol – a request that has never been made of any other candidate.

CAIR-Chicago will continue to represent the man in his employment discrimination case.
