On Friday September 14, CAIR-Chicago, along with members of the Libyan and Muslim community held a candlelight vigil for the late U.S. Ambassador, Christopher Stevens.

Members of the community held signs that stated: “This Muslim is offended by attacks on my embassy,” “May Allah rest your soul in peace Ambassador Chris Stevens,” and “An attack on American embassies is an attack on American Muslims.”

Ambassador Stevens was a central figure in assisting the Libyan people in their struggle against the country’s former dictator, Muammar Gaddafi. Stevens often expressed his love for the Libyan people and culture, while Libyans admired and respected the ambassador for his heroic and honorable work in their country.
