CAIR-Chicago Welcomes Resignation of School Psychologist After Anti-Palestinian Posts

(CHICAGO, IL, 3/28/2024) - The Chicago chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago) today welcomed the resignation of a school psychologist after she made anti-Palestinian remarks in social media posts. 

A psychologist for Ridgeland School District 122 resigned after hundreds of parents demanded she be fired for social media posts that expressed anti-Palestinian sentiment.

In a statement, CAIR-Chicago Executive Director Ahmed Rehab said:

“A school psychologist is responsible for providing care to all students regardless of ethnicity or faith,” said CAIR-Chicago Executive Director Ahmed Rehab. “A person in that position cannot be expressing bigoted, hateful sentiments against Palestinians.”
