CAIR-Chicago Attends Investing in Justice Program

CAIR-Chicago's Civil Rights Coordinator Christina Abraham and Staff Attorney Heena Musabji attended the "Investing in Justice" program. The program addressed the financial barriers that make it nearly impossible for law graduates to pursue a career in legal aid and other important issues. The program was put together by the Illinois Coalition for Equal Justice, The Chicago Bar Foundation, Illinois Bar Foundation, Illinois Equal Justice Foundation and Lawyers Trust Fund.

As CAIR-Chicago provides direct legal representation to its constituents and faces the same dilemmas presented in the program's report, it shares the legal aid community's concerns over the dire conditions that threaten the accessibility of the justice system to those who cannot afford attorney representation.
