Civil Rights Director Christina Abraham Speaks to Senn High School Students about Constitutional Rights

CAIR-Chicago Civil Rights Director Christina Abraham spoke to a high school class about constitutional rights as a part of the Pegasus Players Acting Free program. The program seeks to teach high school students about various civil rights and civic issues, and then works with them to create plays surrounding those issues. Abraham taught the class about the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments that came during the reconstructionist period after the civil war. Abraham put the amendments in historical perspective for the students, and discussed with them the seminal cases that surrounded them. Students discussed issues of fair trials, segregation and affirmative action within the context of the constitutional amendments.
