Volunteers-Activists Fundraise for Infant Health

This spring, CAIR-Chicago volunteers joined together to fundraise for the 2009 March for Babies walk, successfully raising $1,200 to help ensure healthy, full-term pregnancies for pregnant women. CAIR-Chicago assisted the March of Dimes activities as part of the annual “Muslims Care” campaign, which was created to promote volunteerism and awareness in the Muslim Community.

Reflecting on her role as a volunteer-activist, Anam Eljabali said “As a mother, I am proud to see our organizations come together to provide care for families whose infants are suffering from physical and mental health problems.”

Outreach Coordinator Gerald Hankerson coordinated a team of over a dozen Muslim volunteers and served as team captain.
