Chicago Sun-Times: Letter to the editor - Stop the NDAA

Here is the version the Chicago Sun-Times printed as a letter to the editor (see full version below):

As a regular reader of the Chicago Sun-Times, it is frustrating to see a lack of coverage on the National Defense Authorization Act (S. 1867), also known as NDAA. As a naturalized American, I am hoping this bill will be vetoed.

The NDAA would allow the government to indefinitely seize American citizens without charging them for a crime or giving them a fair trial.

This bill was passed by Congress on Dec. 1. If it is not vetoed by President Barack Obama, a situation similar to Japanese internment will be again recorded in American history.

Here is the original letter to the editor:

Lack of Coverage on NDAA

Dear Chicago Sun-Times:

As a regular reader of the Chicago Sun-Times, it is frustrating to see a lack of coverage on the National Defense Authorization Act (S. 1867), also known as NDAA. As a naturalized American, I am hoping this bill will be vetoed.

The NDAA will allow the government to indefinitely seize American citizens without charging them for a crime or giving them a fair trial.

This bill has been passed by Congress on December 1st, 2011 and is unconstitutional. If it is not vetoed by President Obama, a situation similar to Japanese internment will be again recorded in American history.

It is shocking that the Chicago Sun-Times would fail to write about this significant legislative process.
