PHOTOS: Religious/Racial Bias in the Law
The Indian American Bar Association and the Muslim Bar Association of Chicago met at CAIR-Chicago with a diverse group of attorneys, community leaders, activists and other professionals for an interactive discussion on civil rights issues the South Asian American community faces today. Recent national headline events, such as the Purvi Patel prosecution, the Adnan Syed appeal and the tragic attack on Sureshbhai Patel caught the attention of South Asian Americans across the country. These events raised several questions worthy of discussion, and we wanted to hear thoughts and ideas on combating these issues that affect us, our families and friends across the United States.
