Join Us For Interfaith MLK Day Event at CAIR-Chicago
The world is full of religious-based bigotry, hatred, and violence. Join us in honoring Dr. King’s dream for a better world by discussing interfaith peace with Chicago-area Jews, Muslims and Christians and then joining them to hand out flyers promoting interfaith peace. Chicago-area Muslim, Christian, and Jewish teens and adults will join together to honor a man who stood for peace and the rights of others, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. King once stated, “As a nation we will and must come together as one and appreciate and embrace each other through both our similarities as well as our differences”. In light of the recent attacks in the U.S. and Paris, this group will come together to stand against hatred, bigotry and violence on January 18, 2016 (Martin Luther King Day).
The event will begin at The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) office at 17 North State Street, Suite 1500, Chicago at noon. Following an interfaith peace discussion, the group will proceed to State Street at 1 p.m. for one hour to distribute flyers honoring the message of Dr. King and promoting interfaith peace. The event will conclude with another discussion from 2-3 pm.
