CAIR-Chicago Files Complaint with Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission Alleging Bias
February 24, 2006

CAIR-Chicago filed a complaint with the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission (ARDC) against an Administrative Law Judge for the Department of Children and Family Services alleging bias. The Administrative Law Judge inappropriately asked the victim’s family questions about the family’s immigration status, their religion, and other questions irrelevant to the issue at hand. The hearing regarded a charge against an individual who, according to DCFS investigators and expert counselors, posed a threat to the safety of the child. CAIR-Chicago will continue to monitor the situation closely and take whatever steps necessary to facilitate the administration of justice and ensure the safety of the child.
