CAIR-Chicago Represents Muslim Man at
Employment Discrimination Status Hearing

July 18, 2007

CAIR-Chicago Staff Attorney Rima Kapitan represented a Muslim man in a status hearing for an employment discrimination case. The Muslim man filed a federal complaint alleging discrimination after his employer prohibited his wearing a beard, a traditional practice among Muslim men. After telling his employer that he wore the beard as a part of his religious practice, his employer terminated him, citing other reasons. CAIR-Chicago will continue to represent the man in his employment discrimination case.
