Lombard Parking Ban Discussion Continues
November 6, 2006

The Traffic and Safety Committee of the Village of Lombard is still deliberating on the parking ban that prohibits parking on Fridays from noon until 3pm in the Cambria residential community, which unfairly targets the Muslim population attending Friday prayers.

Despite receiving a letter from the Cambria residential community’s lawyer endorsing the present ordinance as not being discriminatory, the Committee voted once again to change the parking ban to Mondays through Friday between the hours of noon to 4pm, on one side of the street.

There will be another vote on the issue by the village board in the next few weeks.
