Executive Director, Panelist in ABC 7’s commercial-free Special, "911: How We’ve Changed"

ABC 7 PRESENTS "911: HOW WE’VE CHANGED," A COMMERCIAL FREE HALF-HOUR SPECIAL HOSTED BY RON MAGERS, KATHY BROCK AND CHERYL BURTON, SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 10 AT 10:35 P.M.

ABC 7 Chicago commemorates the 5th anniversary of 9/11 and looks back at how the worst terror attack on U.S. soil has changed us as a nation and as Chicagoans with a half-hour special, "9/11: How We’ve Changed." Hosts Ron Magers, Kathy Brock and Cheryl Burton will delve into those changes, providing a close-up look at the current state of security and preparedness, civil liberties and Muslim relations in Chicago during this commercial free special which will air on Sunday, September, 10th at 10:35 p.m.

Anyone who has traveled by plane or worked in a high-rise knows that in the intervening years since 9/11, the world has changed dramatically. ABC 7 Investigative Reporter Chuck Goudie targets security hot spots-- from Chicago airports to mass transit to high-rise buildings--examining what’s changed in the past five years and what areas are still vulnerable. ABC 7’s Cheryl Burton will explore how our civil liberties have been affected since the attack on the World Trade Center and Pentagon. What rights have we given up for the war on terror and is it worth it? ABC 7’s Leah Hope will look at Muslim relations in Chicago and how they’ve changed since 9/11--are tensions still brewing or has there been an effort to foster a better understanding of the Muslim community?

Each of the ABC 7 special reports will be followed by a panel discussion examining post-9/11 changes. Panelists scheduled to appear include: Cortez Trotter, city of Chicago chief emergency officer; Colonel Jill Morgenthaler, governor’s deputy chief of staff for public safety and homeland security; Ahmed Rehab, executive director, council on American-Islamic relations, Chicago; John Allen Williams, Ph.D., Loyola professor and national security policy and strategy expert; Matthew Lippman, Ph.D., criminal justice professor and expert on homeland security.

Richard Maginn is the executive producer. Sylvia Jones and Holly Grisham are producers of "911: How We’ve Changed."
