CAIR-Chicago Attends Meeting with Cab Drivers Association
May 8, 2007
CAIR-Chicago’s Civil Rights Coordinator Christina Abraham and Staff Attorney Rima Kapitan attended a meeting held by the American Friends Service Committee regarding issues facing cab drivers in Chicago. Cab drivers had an opportunity to discuss the issues keeping them from making a decent living, and will soon decide on a project to address some of those issues. CAIR-Chicago has received complaints from cab drivers who have experienced discrimination by police, and is working with the AFSC to address those and other issues.
