ICIRR representatives, including board member and CAIR-Chicago Executive Director Ahmed Rehab, took the stage alongside Senator Dick Durbin, Congressman Luis Gutierrez, Congressman Danny Davis, and State Treasurer and Senate Candidate Alexi Giannoulias to rally support for comprehensive immigration reform and the DREAM Act.

CAIR-Chicago joined ICIRR at a press conference to introduce a letter calling on President Barack Obama to move forward on comprehensive immigration reform (CIR) this year. U.S. Representatives Luis V. Gutierrez, Danny K. Davis, and Mike Quigley also attended to show their continued support for CIR.

CAIR-Chicago commends the efforts of Congressmen Bobby Rush (D-IL) and Danny Davis (D-IL) for signing on as co-sponsors to House Resolution 450 which called for an immediate ceasefire in the Middle East.

CHICAGO — Congressman Danny Davis has joined Muslims and Jews in urging a halt to erosion of liberty in the name of protecting liberty with the Patriot Act.

The Chicago chapter of the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy group, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago), in conjunction with the Civil Liberties Coalition of Illinois (CLCI) and Representative Danny K. Davis will hold a press conference to discuss the new threat to civil liberties due to the recent passage of the Patriot Act’s sunset provisions in the U.S. House of Representatives.
