About 100 high school students from across the Chicagoland area attended the first official Muslim Youth Leadership Symposium (MYLS) sponsored by CAIR-Chicago this April 5-6, 2008. During the two-day event, students attended workshops, presentations, and worked together to draft proposals for future projects they hope will bring about positive changes in their communities.
WHAT: CAFÉ FINJAN is a series of interfaith arts exchanges, begun in 2004 by the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs as part of its Jewish-Muslim Community-Building Initiative. Upon invitation by President Robert Zimmer of the University of Chicago, CAIR-Chicago commemorated the life and accomplishments of the late Dr. Amadou Cisse at the 492nd Convocation Ceremony held at the Rockefeller Chapel. Gerald Hankerson, Outreach Coordinator of CAIR-Chicago, attended the ceremony.
The Chicago Area Law School Consortium hosted their 11th Annual Meet the Public Service Employers Reception at the Loyola University Chicago School of Law, located in the Downtown campus
