‘Ties That Bind’ is a documentary that premiered in Barcelona at the Parliament of World’s Religions’ and UNESCO’s “Pathways to Peace” conference and has aired several times on Chicago’s PBS Television Station, WTTW11. Since then, a dozen town hall meetings have brought local diverse groups together. On the fifth Anniversary of 9/11, the Muslim community of Bridgeview is hosting such a gathering as a statement that hate and misunderstanding shall not prevail.

On Monday March 6th, CAIR-Chicago and community members attended a vigil at the Chicago Federal Plaza to peacefully protest the closed hearings determining the admissibility of torture induced confessions in the Muhammad Salah case.

On Friday, September 9, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) will host an interfaith candlelight vigil at the Capitol Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C., to mark the fourth anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks.
