CAIR-Chicago to Hold SOLD OUT Gala on Sunday

(CHICAGO, IL, 10/25/2023) - The Chicago chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago) today said that its 2023 gala held at Drury Lane in Oak Brook Terrace Sunday evening sold out on Thursday.  

The annual gathering of Chicago's Muslim communities and allies is one of the largest organizational grassroots event in the city and brings a wide diversity of Chicago's Muslim corners by race, age, ethnicity, and profession, and over 70 letters of recognitions from elected officials.

WHEN: Reception 5:00, DInner 6:00, Sunday October 29th

WHERE: 100 Drury Ln, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181

WHO: 1,000 Muslim community members, allies, elected officials, and guests.

MEDIA ALLOWED WITH PRESS PASS AT REGISTRATION

The event is held at a time when Muslims are facing a historic spike in hate crimes and intimidation that many say are linked to the troubling developments in the Middle East.

In a statement, CAIR-Chicago Executive Director Ahmed Rehab said: 

“Hate will not silence us. Our gala's mission is to ensure that Chicago's Muslim community is ever-resolute in confronting all forms of bigotry and supremacy on our unshakable values of honoring life, freedom, and justice for all - especially the most vulnerable.

CAIR is America’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. CAIR-Chicago's mission is to defend civil rights, fight bigotry, and promote understanding.
