Media Advisory: Muslims to Hold 9/11 Vigil at U.S. Capitol

WHAT: On Friday, September 9, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) will host an interfaith candlelight vigil at the Capitol Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C., to mark the fourth anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks. Along with the vigil, the event will include remarks by interfaith leaders and presentation of CAIR's "Voice of Unity Award." Islamic sunset prayers (Maghrib) will be held immediately after the event.

WHEN: Friday, September 9, 6:45-7:45 p.m.

WHERE: Capitol Reflecting Pool, Washington, D.C. (The reflecting pool is located on the West side of the U.S. Capitol building near the base of the stairs and is just East of 3rd Street, between Constitution and Independence Avenues. Note: This location should not be confused with the Reflecting Pool located between the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial.)
