CAIR-Chicago Files Motion to Move Up Hearing

CAIR-Chicago attorney Rima Kapitan filed a motion to move up the hearing of a Muslim man who had his chauffeur license suspended after police pulled him over for a traffic violation, approached him with drawn weapons, and detained him for seven hours where they made derogatory comments about his religion. The hearing that will appeal the charges that led to the suspension of the man’s chauffeur license was originally set for March, and the man has no source of income apart from cab driving. Kapitan is also requesting the man’s license be temporarily reinstated until a determination on his appeal can be made.
