Media Advisory: Chicago Coalition to Protest Boeing ‘Torture Flights’
(CHICAGO, IL, 4/25/08) - On Monday, April 28, the Coalition to Ground Torture Flights will hold a protest and news conference at the annual Boeing shareholder’s meeting to demand that the company respond to allegations that it is an active participant in so-called “torture flights.” The broad-based Coalition members include the Chicago chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago), the Chicago Committee to Defend the Bill of Rights (CCDBR), the 8th Day Center for Justice, and the American Friends Service Committee – Chicago.
This is the Coalition’s first public action as a part of a campaign to educate Boeing shareholders and the general public that Boeing is profiting from torture and to demand that Boeing account for and cease its provision of services to CIA torture flights. Boeing is headquartered in Chicago.
