Civil Rights Director and Staff Attorney Discuss the State of Civil Rights in Post 9-11 America
CAIR-Chicago Civil Rights Director Christina Abraham and Staff Attorney Kevin Vodak presented on the state of civil rights in post 9-11 America at an event entitled "The War on Terror and the Rights of Muslims," sponsored by the American Constitutional Society (ACS). The event was hosted by the reputable law firm, Hughes Sokol Piers Resnick and Dym, Ltd. Approximately 19 attorneys and law students attended the event. Abraham and Vodak discussed the issues of media representation of Muslims, government policies affecting Muslim civil rights and the "trickle-down" effect as they relate to hate crimes and employment discrimination. The event took place on November 17.

ACS is one of the nation's leading progressive legal organizations.
