CAIR-Chicago attends UIC Islamic Awareness Week Banquet

On March 6, CAIR-Chicago Outreach coordinator Gerald Hankerson spoke on a panel for the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Islamic Awareness Week. Hankerson spoke on a panel titled, "Why I chose Islam" along with Jeremiah Abiade, John Steven Smithers, and Eddy from the Deen Show. The purpose of IAW is to promote tolerance by increasing awareness and educating Muslims and non-Muslims alike about the world’s most misrepresented religion. For this effort, scholars and leaders from the community and abroad have been invited to discuss the fundamental aspects of our beautiful religion. In addition, we have planned meaningful and engaging activities as a means of sharing understanding of the religion on the UIC campus.
