Sufyan Sohel speaks to DePaul University Students

CAIR-Chicago Deputy Director, Sufyan Sohel, spoke to a DePaul University class on Monday, July 18. The Class, Perspectives on Peace, Justice and Conflict Studies, focuses on the relationships between peace within oneself, with others, globally, and how they reinforce each other. Sohel spoke on the impacts of extremism and Islamaphobia on the Muslim American Community and the civil rights efforts of CAIR-Chicago in working to protect the Constitutional rights of all Americans. He led a conversation on the various intersections of social justice initiatives and the portrayal of various ethnic and religious groups by the media and in popular culture.
