The Chicago Bar Foundation Communications Workshop
May 1, 2006

CAIR-Chicago’s Communications Coordinator Sultan Muhammad attended the Chicago Bar Foundation’s Communications Workshop with a cross section of Illinois legal aid spokespersons and public interest law organization executives for a full day’s presentation designed to impart practical tools to improve outreach and advance the overall cause of equal access to justice.

The event featured locally and nationally acclaimed communications trainers that revealed strategies for improving organizational presentations and messaging to ensure that spokespersons and executives of public interest groups get their stories heard.

The Chicago Bar Foundation Communications Workshop made communications techniques and strategies available giving community-based organizations the knowledge to get their projects supported by various constituents, public and private. “Public interest organizational development is critical to the livelihood and growth of the community,” says Sultan Muhammad.

Presentations by Carmine Gallo, a nationally renown communications expert and author of ’10 Simple Secrets of the World’s Greatest Business Communicators,’ Greg McConnell, of Winston & Strawn and Angela Vigil, of Baker & McKenzie emphasized that noble causes only go as far as concise, relevant and well executed messaging will allow.
