Muslim Man Experiencing Obtains Citizenship After Two-Year Delay
June 25, 2007
A Muslim man who applied for citizenship in 2005 finally obtained his citizenship after two years of waiting. Like many Muslims, the man applied for citizenship and passed all necessary requirements, but was made to wait because of delays in the background check process. After CAIR-Chicago filed several inquiries on the man’s behalf, USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) informed him that his application for citizenship had been approved and that he was scheduled to take his oath for naturalization.
CAIR-Chicago continues to represent individuals experiencing delays in obtaining their citizenship.
