Yahoo! News: "They [CAIR-Chicago] say it is not antisemitic to critique Israel’s policies"

Paz, a student organizer of Northwestern University’s chapter of Jewish Voice for Peace, speaks about her positive time at the encampments.

CHICAGO — Northwestern University is facing at least two lawsuits and several resignations in the wake of its agreement with pro-Palestinian protestors to end the encampment on campus.

Northwestern University students started Chicago's first university encampment on Thursday, April 25th, 2024. Since then, students from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, University of Chicago, and DePaul University have followed suit to launch their own encampments.

In a landmark victory as the first U.S. school to reach a negotiated deal, The NU Divestment Coalition stated on Tuesday, April 30th:

"After 100+ hours, 80+ tents, 1000s of attendees, 100s of organizers, dozens of speakers, artbuilds, and programs, Northwestern University has met our demand for disclosure. Admin has conceded to full transparency on investments, an immensely meaningful first step to divestment. This is also a great first step toward rectifying the long-standing lack of support for Palestinian, MENA, and anti-Zionist students on campus. We will continue to protest until Northwestern concedes full divestment and until Palestine is free" via Instagram
