TAP Attorneys Receive Legal Eagle Award

On July 19th, the TAP received the prestigious Legal Eagle award from the Independent Voters of IL (IVI-IPO). They were recognized for their rapid response after the first Muslim Ban and their subsequent and current efforts in continuing to advocate on behalf of, and provide assistance to, travelers affected by the Muslim Ban.

Deputy Director Sufyan Sohel, who spoke at the event, shared “18 months later, we are still at it, operating a 24 hour hotline with volunteers answering calls and emails at all hours of the day and night for people facing Muslim Ban related travel issues. The Bans affect far more individuals than those from countries listed in the Executive Order. We are committed to continue fighting for and helping all those facing this injustice."
