Recap of CAIR-Chicago's Involvement in the 2023 Parliament of World Religions Convention

CAIR-Chicago is proud to have played a significant role in the recently concluded 2023 Parliament of World Religions convention at McCormick Place. The event was held from August 13th to August 18th in the vibrant city of Chicago, IL. This global gathering brought together people of diverse faiths, backgrounds, and cultures to foster dialogue, understanding, and cooperation.

Our team, consisting of dedicated staff and volunteers, participated in various sessions, workshops, and discussions. We engaged in meaningful conversations on topics ranging from interfaith cooperation to social justice and human rights. Through our active involvement, we were able to contribute to the overarching theme of this year's Parliament, "A Call to Conscience: Defending Freedom & Human Rights."

Highlights of our participation includes:

  1. Interfaith Dialogue: CAIR-Chicago representatives participated in panel discussions and dialogue with representatives from other faith traditions. We emphasized the importance of building bridges, promoting tolerance, and combating discrimination.

  2. Workshops: CAIR-Chicago conducted workshops with kids on ways to promote awareness about school bullying, providing solutions to arising issues as they come. These workshops provided insight and tools for attendees to combat discrimination in their communities.

We are grateful for the chance to be a part of this inspiring event and look forward to continuing our efforts to promote interfaith harmony and understanding.
