Rabya Khan to speak at Advancing Justice Conference - Sept. 28

CAIR-Chicago Staff Attorney Rabya Khan will be speaking at the Advancing Justice Conference this Friday, September 28, 2012 in Chicago. Khan will be speaking at the afternoon plenary “Vincent Chin- The Next 30 Years: Anti-Asian Violence Today” addressing recent hate crimes against the Sikh American and Muslim American communities, and in a workshop “Oak Creek and Beyond – How Do We Respond as a Community?” which will be a dialogue on the history of discrimination against Asian Americans, and will engage workshop participants on advocacy strategies.

The Advancing Justice Conference is a national civil rights and social justice conference that aims to bring together a diverse group of stakeholders in one place to address a broad range of issues facing the Asian American and Pacific Islander community. It serves as a unique forum where researchers, advocates, direct service providers and other leaders can meet face-to-face, talk about their common challenges and find ways to work collaboratively.
