Ahmed Rehab to give keynote address at UW-Madison "Understanding Islamophobia" event

This Friday, CAIR-Chicago Executive Director, Ahmed Rehab, will give the keynote address at a UW-Madison event entitled "Understanding Islamophobia in America.” Rehab will focus on the definitions, origins, nature, motivations, machinations and consequences of Islamophobia in the U.S. Other lecturers will include:

  • Rashid Dar a UW alumnus and former program director at Park 51 who will share his experiences
  • UW Professor Asifa Quraishi-Landes who will discuss the anti-Sharia movement
  • UW Professor Jennifer Loewenstein who will respond to the reaction that resulted from the release of the “Innocence of Muslims” video
  • Huffington Post writer Daniel Tutt who will speak about strategies to counter Islamophobia
