Join CAIR-Chicago Saturday, June 7 for an Asian American Town Hall Forum

Join us on Saturday, June 7 for an Asian American Town Hall Forum at the Japanese American Service Committee Center to discuss the various issues surrounding the Jianqing Klyzek CPD brutality case that shows video footage of a Chicago police officer striking Ms Klyzek, and threatening to put her in a box and deport her. Article about the case can be seen here

It is too easy to see this as an isolated incident that happened to someone else, but each of us can think of a community member who has been questioned about their citizenship, denied access because of their language skills, or dismissed because they are Asian American. From a community that is perceived as being quiet and willing to take things as they are handed to us this is unacceptable and we as Asian Americans - and Chicagoans - must come together to demand more of our leaders.
