Know Your Rights & Outreach at Muslim Youth Expo

Muslim organizations from across Chicagoland joined CAIR-Chicago at the Muslim Youth Expo hosted by CIOGC at the University of Illinois at Chicago on October 10th. The expo, focusing on high school and college-aged youth, gathered a spectrum of organizations to share information at booths and at workshops. CAIR-Chicago’s Outreach Coordinator Gerald Hankerson and Government Affairs Intern Liqa Affaneh, manned a booth (pictured above) where they talked to students and parents about the important work CAIR-Chicago does and how youth can get involved. Outgoing Staff Attorney Rabya Khan led a Know Your Rights workshop for students, youth and community members.

The expo also featured performances by talented young Muslims in a show will be hosted by the hip-hop artist, Khaled Ahmed, more commonly known as Khaled M.
