WHY

The Chicago Interfaith Gathering (CIG) aspires to become an internationally recognized premier interfaith event that will play a global role in establishing good relationships between people of diverse faiths based on mutual respect, understanding, respect, trust, compassion, and cooperation.

The core mission of the Chicago Interfaith Gathering is to promote global networks of interfaith activism and to explore new ways of moving forward together in cooperation, while acknowledging and honoring our genuine differences, we aim to build on our shared hopes and values.

The Chicago Interfaith Gathering will be distinguished by a truly selective and committed membership. Our board will draw from the diverse, cultural, intellectual, and religious resources and experiences of the Greater Chicago area and our organization will also be active locally in order to enrich and strengthen our bonds of friendship and community activism through cultural, interfaith and community-based programs.

The Chicago Interfaith Gathering seminars are led by world reknowned scholars and activists. It is cosponsored by some of Chicago's leading academic institutions and interfaith organizations
