Civil Rights Intern Meets with National Lawyers Guild Representative

Ongoing collaborations on an upcoming Civil Rights Event CAIR-Chicago's Civil Rights Intern Samina Sulemanjee met with Ryann Zalewski, an Executive Board Member of the National Lawyers Guild Chicago chapter (NLG), to discuss the planning of a speaker-panel event in November.

The Civil Rights Department intends to increase its outreach efforts by collaborating with other organizations in order to build stronger ties across communities and reach a larger audience.

Along with the NLG, Samina Sulemanjee, the Public Relations Intern for the Civil Rights Department at CAIR-Chicago, is also working together with Gaby Machabanski from the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs (JCUA).

CAIR-Chicago's Civil Rights Department plans to co-sponsor an event, along with the JCUA and NLG, on the topic of Law Reform and Advocacy, highlighting specific issues of Citizenship Delay and Police Misconduct Cases.

CAIR-Chicago will provide detailed information about the event at a later date.
