CAIR-Chicago Represents Muslim Woman in Mediation at EEOC

CAIR-Chicago's Legal Advisor Maaria Mozaffar represented a Muslim woman at a mediation session at the EEOC. The woman was terminated after she failed to attend a dinner that featured dancing and alcohol. The woman informed her supervisor before the dinner that she could not attend due to her deeply held religious beliefs. After the dinner, her supervisor and the head of the organization terminated her, telling her that there were "too many differences" between them, and that this determination was made because she failed to attend the dinner.

Although the mediation session today produced no settlement, CAIR-Chicago will continue to represent the woman until a positive resolution is attained.
