Volunteers learn about poll monitoring at CAIR-Chicago

CAIR- Chicago hosted an Election Poll Monitoring Training on Thursday, October 25 which was co-sponsored by the Indian American Bar Association and the Muslim Bar Association. Another training was held on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at the Muslim Education Center which was coordinated by volunteer Rizwan Kadir, and sponsored by CAIR-Chicago. The trainings were conducted by Andy Kang, the Senior Staff Attorney at the Asian American Institute (AAI). On Election Day (yesterday), AAI staff and volunteers worked to coordinate poll monitors for the 8th Congressional District, and several other northern suburban and city locations to ensure that immigrant voters’ rights were protected.
