ANNOUNCEMENT: Annual Banquet date changed to May 4th!
Due to the large number of fundraisers in March that will be held by our fellow Chicago Muslim organizations, we have decided to postpone our Annual Banquet until Saturday, May 4, 2013. We support our fellow organizations in their important work and ask that you do too. The event is still due to take place at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL. As part of America’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy group, CAIR-Chicago works tirelessly to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties and empower American Muslims. CAIR-Chicago’s annual banquet is a great way to meet other activists and to learn more about what we do and how we do it!
The banquet features dinner, speakers, a documentary screening, an award ceremony and a photo booth for the CAIR-Chicago-sponsored #MyJihad campaign.
The banquet functions as our principle fundraising and outreach event of the year. As a not-for-profit organization, CAIR-Chicago depends on the community’s support to fulfill its missions of addressing issues of civil and social justice for the American Muslim community. Fundraising from these banquets aids us in yielding the concrete results produced by the work we do, ranging from legally representing Muslims and Islamic institutions in cases of discrimination to planning outreach events to educate and promote civic and interfaith engagement.
CAIR-Chicago is seeking help from the community in providing sponsorship and volunteers to help make the event more of a success.
