Aymen Abdel Halim to present at AAI Leadership Forum, March 16

On Saturday, March 16, 2013, CAIR-Chicago Communications Coordinator Aymen Abdel Halim will present at a workshop on digital storytelling as a part of the Asian American Institute's 9th Annual Leadership Forum. Aymen will discuss how CAIR-Chicago utilizes the digital media landscape to further its mission of defending civil rights, fighting bigotry, and promoting tolerance.

Aymen will be joined by Rekha Radhakrishnan of the Asian American Institute (AAI) and Jenny Lee, an English Professor at College of Lake County.

The workshop will focus on the ways to harness digital channels to produce effective advocacy narratives.

The proliferation of online forums creates, at times, an over-saturated user experience, but with the right strategies, one can still capture and move audiences without bombarding them.

The speakers will elaborate on some of these strategies and share other methods used by successful projects they've seen or been involved with; they will present on how to craft stories specifically for digital media and the best ways to navigate Twitter, blogs, YouTube, and the multitude of mediums out there.
