Ani News: B'day cards showing Muslim terrorist dolls threatening to blow up raises stink in US

Washington, May 7 (ANI): A New Jersey greeting card maker has been slammed by a civil rights group in America for showing a Muslim doll on a birthday card with several incendiary phrases. The card, made by Noble Works, featured a digitally altered version of a hijab-wearing Muslim doll.

Ahmed Rehab, executive director of the Chicago chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, told WGN that the card was full of blatant bigotry.

According to the New York Daily News, the card's cover, which said 'Pull string for message, if you dare!' uses a photo of 'Aamina, the Muslim Doll', a children's toy that teaches Arabic phrases and greetings when a string is pulled.

Further text meant to portray the doll as a suicide bomber reads, 'She'll blow your brains out!' and 'She'll love you to death!' Inside, the card contains the punchline "Hope your birthday is a blowout!'

Rehab said that reducing the children's toy to a terrorist promotes harmful stereotypes of Muslims, adding that the card correlated Muslims and terrorism, the report added.
