This inaugural event for the Sacred Activism series will feature CAIR-Chicago Research Coordinator M. Tauseef Akbar and CAIR-Michigan Executive Director Dawud Walid.

Numerous controversies have erupted in the Muslim American community over the pursuit and involvement of well-known Muslim figures in social justice causes, joining movements and alliances that have raised questions about commitments to fundamental sacred values to Islam. How do we engage the important struggles of the day, in a balanced way, beyond Left or Right, that maintains a commitment without compromise to Islam?
