CAIR-Chicago Meets with Amnesty International on Prison Project

CAIR-Chicago's Civil Rights Coordinator, Christina Abraham, and Prison Project Coordinator, Mariyam Hussain met with Robert Shultz, of Amnesty International. CAIR-Chicago's prison project concerns itself with Muslims being mistreated or tortured in United State's prisons. Topics discussed in the meeting were possible future contacts for CAIR-Chicago's Prison Project Report, a report to be used internally, as well as a handbook for prisoners on the laws that protect them, and ways to deal with prison mistreatment. Also briefly discussed was racial profiling. CAIR-Chicago hopes to build a closer relationship to Amnesty International in the future. copyright © 2005, cairchicago.org
