Iftar in the Synagogue 2013: Neighbors against bigotry

ABOUT "IFTAR IN THE SYNAGOGUE":“Iftar” is the breaking of the daily fast during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. “Iftar in the Synagogue” – a unique interfaith gathering – was first celebrated in 2005. Since then this inspiring annual event has grown tremendously and become an important annual event in both Jewish and Muslim communities. The evening includes Jewish and Muslim prayers, engaging speakers, conversation and a kosher/halal dinner.

NEIGHBORS AGAINST BIGOTRY: This year our communities are coming together as neighbors to oppose Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, and other forms of bigotry. We will celebrate our diversity, and commit to a hate-free and embracing society.

WHEN: Thursday, July 25, 6:30PM

WHERE: Anshe Emet Synagogue 3751 N Broadway, Chicago
