CAIR-Chicago Hosts Students in Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program

On Monday, July 21, CAIR-Chicago hosted the students participating in the Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program, a program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, in a Leadership, Development, and Diversity workshop.  The group of students met with Hind Makki, a trainer in interfaith dialogue, in order to discuss the projects they are working on regarding the theme of teen health in their communities.  Some of the projects students are working on include: teen smoking, mental health, self-esteem, and relationships.

During the workshop, the group explored the topic of creating a dialogue that spreads their particular issue and message. This exploration allowed students to see the importance of having a dialogue that is personal, descriptive, and speaks to a diverse audience.
