Civil Rights Director Christina Abraham Helps to End Citizenship Wait

Civil Rights Director Christina Abraham attended a citizenship interview with a man who has been waiting five years for citizenship. The man initially passed the citizenship test in 2004 and had been waiting for background checks to clear. While waiting to be scheduled for an oath ceremony, his case was rejected because he had gotten divorced. The man then reapplied for citizenship and waited an additional two years to take the test once again.

At the most recent interview, the man was told his application would be adjudicated within three months.
