Russian Interfaith delegation visits CAIR-Chicago

On Monday, November 25 a delegation from Russia visited CAIR-Chicago offices to hear a presentation on Interfaith work. Outreach Coordinator Gerald Hankerson welcomed the six person delegation with a tour of the office and a short documentary on CAIR-Chicago's civil rights work.

The delegates came to Chicago as a part of the U.S. Department of State International Visitor Leadership Program and the "Interfaith Dialogue in the public square" project. The project focuses on religious organizations, their relationships with each other, and their roles in the wider community. The project brought a group of six religious leaders from the Russian Far East to Chicago to see how American religious organizations work together to address social issues such a poverty, prejudice, injustice and youth outreach.
